Chelsea Financial Services Acquires Customer Accounts and Brokerage Assets of General Securities, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Brokerage Dedicated to Global Adoptions and a Peruvian Orphanage

Staten Island, NY – October 6, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Chelsea Financial Services proudly announces the acquisition of the customer accounts and brokerage assets of General Securities, a Kansas City-based firm known for its extraordinary legacy of compassion and service. Founded by Dave Miller, General Securities established Hogar de Esperanza (“House of Hope”)—an orphanage in Peru dedicated to providing care, shelter, and opportunity for children in need. This acquisition continues a nearly 30-year tradition of integrity, generosity, and global humanitarian impact.

Nestled in Peru’s coastal desert, House of Hope has served as a refuge for orphans since welcoming its first resident in 2002. For more than two decades, it has provided a safe home, education, and adoption support for up to 50 children. The campus features a chapel, a large dining hall, administrative offices, and second-floor accommodations for volunteers and adoptive families. The orphanage is divided into four homes tailored to specific age groups: Chispas de Amor (“Sparks of Love”) for the youngest, Tesoros del Rey (“Treasures of the King”) for middle-aged children, Amigos de Jesús (“Friends of Jesus”) for older youth, and Luces de Esperanza (“Lights of Hope”) for teenagers preparing for adulthood.

The inspiration for House of Hope began during one of Miller’s morning jogs through Trujillo, Peru, when he saw children scavenging for food. Deeply moved, he and his late wife, Vickie Miller, joined members of the local Christian community to build a home for these children. In 2003, Miller donated 100% of General Securities’ stock to Saving Street Children, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation supporting adoptions in countries such as Ukraine, China, and Africa, while funding the orphanage’s operations in Peru.

“When I decided to sell my company, I turned to our clearing house, Hilltop Securities, for advice,” said Dave Miller, Founder of General Securities. “They recommended Chelsea Financial Services, and from my very first meeting with John Pisapia, President of Chelsea, I knew my brokers and clients would be in good hands. Every one of my brokers chose to join Chelsea—including one who’s been with me for over 40 years.”

At 78, Miller will continue to serve clients as an Independent Broker with Chelsea Financial Services, using the proceeds from the sale and his ongoing work to further support House of Hope and global adoption programs.

“This acquisition expands our national footprint while allowing us to help sustain a mission that’s truly transforming lives,” said John Pisapia, President of Chelsea Financial Services. “We’re honored to welcome all of General Securities’ representatives to the Chelsea family and to play a part in continuing Dave Miller’s inspiring humanitarian efforts.”
